Potential Use of Sewage Sludge Ash in Lime-Based Materials

Recycling of wastes and their by-products is attracting increasing interest worldwide because the high environmental impact in cement, concrete other industries. This work deals with study physico-chemical characteristics binders based on sewage sludge ashes lime. In a first step, we used X-ray fluorescence to determine chemical composition ash, lime binders. allowed us see that ash similar cement. We then diffraction identify main mineralogical phases samples. Compressive strengths mortars containing 20%, 40%, 60% 80% SSA showed has long-term positive effect which might be related slight pozzolanic activity. The L4 binder consisting fine 20% higher compressive strength than others. setting start time greater cement but shorter thermophysical properties shows it thermal resistance clay mortars. Moreover, heats up less quickly its low effusivity compared latter two. analysis highlighted principal must taken into account use correctly lime-based materials.
